Windows Mail in Win7
Here are two articles that show you how to 'graft' Vista's Windows Mail into Win7: Windows Mail in Win7 & OE-to-Windows Mail --and-- Windows Mail in Win7 - How to integrate Those of you who did this before the Windows Update of 11 May 2010 experienced disabling of Windows Mail in Win7. Here is the fix I found: In 32-bit Vista & Win7 there is only one Windows Mail program folder -- it's in the Program Files folder. In 64-bit Vista & Win7, there are two Windows Mail folders -- one in the Program Files folder and one in the Program Files (x86) folder. In these Windows Mail folders there is a file named msoe.dll that, in Win7, the 11 May 2010 Windows Update replaced. Simply replacing it/them with the original msoe.dll file(s) taken from Vista restored Windows Mail. Here are the original Windows Mail files from Vista that you can use to 'graft' Windows Mail into Win7 as described in the two links shown above, or to get the needed msoe.dll file(s) to fix Windows Mail in Win7 as described in the preceding paragraph.
